Zelda Cheatle was asked to curate an exhibition of Chinese photographer, Qin Yuhai, which would present his new studies of water from the Chinese landscape.
All the images chosen were based on Qin Yuhai’s long engagement and relationship with Mount Yuntai in Central China’s Henan Province. The photographs, taken with a 10 x 8 camera, are the result of years of learning and understanding how best to represent the essence of water. At the same time, they are an exploration into the nature and language of photography.
