Project: Digital Artist Residencies at the Horniman Museum London and Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) Bangalore

Inspired by the desire to access museums and their archives during the pandemic lockdown, Zelda Cheatle initiated two concurrent six month residencies

as part of a joint project to explore and access archives, collaborating with the Horniman Museum in London and MAP in Bangalore.

Marie Smith is researching  and exploring  the Hornimans Nature Trail  and archives,and will exhibit digitally in the autumn of 2023.

Adira Thekkuveettil will produce work from the MAP archive, exhibited digitally in the autumn of 2023.


Adira Thekkuveettil (b.1990) BIO

an artist whose work investigates photography’s entanglements with contemporary sociopolitical consciousness, especially in an urban context.

She draws from family histories, archives and her own practice as a photographer to explore the lines that seemingly separate fact from fiction.

She is currently Digital Artist in Residence at the Museum of Art and Photography, Bangalore. Adira is also the Course Director of Aesthetics, Criticism and Theory at Jnanapravaha Mumbai.
