A Celebration of photography initiated, founded and curated by Zelda Cheatle in Dalkeith Palace, the inaugural season culminated in outstanding exhibitions by Walter Dalkeith in association with the Buccleuch Family Albums previously unseen, Squaring the Circles of Confusion, Neo Pictorialism in the 21st Century featuring Joy Gegory, Susan Derges, Celine Bodin, Spencer Rowell, David George, Takashi Arai, IaN Phillips McLaren, Tom Hunter, Angela Chalmers and David Chalmers, supported by the RPS.
A solo show by Calum Colvin of Constructed Portraits was presented in the Entrance Hall and Marble Hall, and work was shown by Studies in Photography and Leaves, two Scottish publications. Also well attended were the workshops in Cyanotype, Salt printing, Tintype, and Carbon Printing. Portfolio reviews were appreciated by a diverse and appreciative audience. The International symposium attracted international guests and speakers, and combined both historical and contemporary presentations.
